Hands-on partner from architecture to production

Expertise

One technical partner across product, platform, and regulation.

Senior direction is most useful when it remains connected to the work. I combine architectural judgment with hands-on delivery.

01

Platform engineering

Architecture and delivery of dependable digital platforms, from the first technical decisions through production operation and continued evolution.

  • Architecture
  • Cloud platforms
  • Integrations
  • Reliability
02

iGaming systems

Domain-aware engineering for gaming products, back-office workflows, real-time integrations, payments, identity, and operational tooling.

  • Gaming platforms
  • Live data
  • KYC & identity
  • Payments
03

Regulatory readiness

Technical leadership for systems that need evidence, traceability, controlled change, and a clear route through certification.

  • Certification
  • Auditability
  • Technical evidence

Engagements

When to bring me in

I work project-based or as an ongoing technical adviser, depending on the problem and the level of ownership required.

  • Establish or rethink a platform architecture
  • Take hands-on technical ownership of a difficult delivery
  • Prepare a game or gaming system for certification
  • Strengthen integrations, operations, or engineering practices

iGaming & compliance

Built with regulation in the room — not added at the end.

A decade in iGaming has taught me that compliance is a product and engineering concern as much as a regulatory one.

I have led certification processes for more than 15 games and three gaming systems or casinos, and bring extensive practical knowledge of requirements in the Danish market, including work involving the Danish Gambling Authority (Spillemyndigheden).

Requirements into architecture

Translate regulatory and certification requirements into system boundaries, data flows, controls, and delivery decisions that teams can execute.

Evidence and traceability

Establish the technical documentation, change history, test evidence, and operational clarity needed for review and certification.

Certification coordination

Coordinate the technical work across product teams, test houses, and other relevant parties while keeping remediation focused and visible.

Selected work

Complex systems, made operational.

Selected examples of product and platform work delivered in production environments.

Role
Lead Architect for FireCore & Backend Developer
Challenge
Design and build a consistent, low-latency path between games and operator-specific APIs while keeping transaction flows resilient, allowing integrations to scale independently, and meeting technical compliance requirements for the Danish market.
Contribution
I was the lead architect and primary developer for FireCore. I also contributed to central Fireball backend services, event-driven flows, multiple casino-operator integrations, and the RNG and game SDKs. In addition, I was responsible for technical compliance work covering games, RNG, and SDKs for the Danish market.

How I work

Clarity first. Progress visible.

  1. 01

    Understand the real constraint

Align business goals, domain requirements, technical realities, and the decisions that cannot be deferred.

  2. 02

    Create momentum

Work hands-on with the team, make trade-offs explicit, and turn direction into production-quality delivery.

  3. 03

    Leave a stronger system

Improve not only the product, but also the architecture, operational clarity, and team capability around it.

Nick Pedersen

Independent Technical Lead · Denmark

I have worked professionally with software development for more than 12 years, in roles spanning backend development, lead development, full-stack leadership and project management, technical leadership, and CTO responsibility.

My background is rooted in iGaming, complemented by recent work in a digital consultancy delivering enterprise and B2B commerce platforms, internal systems, and other web-based products.

Through NP Tech, I work project-based or provide ongoing technical advice. Engagements are primarily remote, with selected in-person meetings when they add value.

I also bring practical knowledge of modern AI systems and AI-assisted development — from evaluating where the technology adds real value to understanding the technical choices, limitations, and responsibilities involved.
